Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Oveante graduated from Berklee College of Music in piano,voiceand songwrighting. His extraordinary give became apparent when he began singing beautifully at 2 years old and spontaneously playing piano at 13. As a child and teen, Oveante played in many settings, including as a soloist for the the 2006 Freedom Awards in Memphis in front of Stevie Wonder, and as a pianist with the Overton Blue Jazz Ensemble, appearing in frequent concerts throughout Memphis. Throughout high school Oveante participated in All State competitions, as well as The Savannah Swing Central Jazz national competition where the band was awarded second place in 2014. Oveante was selected for the All West Jazz Band for five consecutive year. Additionally competed and won Omega Psi Phi Fraternity International Talent Hunt, performing at Caesar's Palace in 2016, and PBS's Celebration of Music in Boston, performing at the Wilbur Theater in 2018. Oveante was selected from a national search to play on the recording of "Strange Fruit Revisited" featuring Broadway star Tonya Pinkins in 2021. Currently, he is performing throughout Memphis, writing and recording new music, and rehearsing with a new band, Mid Air Decision.
Oveante is the minister of music for his home church, New Galilee Baptist Church in Memphis. He hopes that through his music, lives will be impacted for the better, and world will be healed. He states that music is for the glory of God, and Favor takes you to places you can only dream of.
